Jason Haim is the founder and President of Breakers Capital Partners, LLC (“BCP”). BCP was founded in 2009 and owns a diversified portfolio of real estate interests, including office buildings, multi-family complexes, and retail complexes in southern Florida, New Jersey, South Carolina, and North Carolina. Over the past five years, BCP has been the general partner or co-general partner in the construction, management, and leasing of over 700 multi-family apartments in Charleston, South Carolina, and has led the acquisition and ownership of over a half-million square feet of commercial buildings throughout South Florida.
Jason has over 20 years of experience as a real estate transactional attorney, investor, and operator. Mr. Haim previously served as Vice President of Island Capital Group, LLC, a real estate merchant bank owned by Andrew Farkas. Mr. Haim was responsible for acquisitions, dispositions, financing, leasing, and joint ventures of over $4 billion worth of transactions, including 230 Park Avenue, 280 Park Avenue, 450 Lexington Avenue, W Hotel Union Square, and Mandarin Oriental Time Warner Center in New York City. After leaving Island Capital, Mr. Haim served as Vice President and General Counsel of Monday Properties, a real estate investment firm that owns and operates 10 million square feet of property in New York City and Washington, D.C.
From 2001 through 2005,
Mr. Haim was an associate in the real estate department of Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver, and Jacobson LLP in New York City. At Fried Frank, Mr. Haim represented private equity real estate funds, investment banks, developers, REITS, lenders and institutional investors in the structuring, negotiation, and closing of sophisticated commercial real estate transactions. Additionally, Mr. Haim worked on all aspects of the closing and drafting of acquisition, construction, sale-leaseback financing transactions, as well as representing both tenant and landlords on complicated large office leases.
Mr. Haim Received his J.D.
from the Columbia University School of Law in 2001, where he served as a notes editor on the Columbia Business Law Review, and graduated cum laude from Georgetown University in 1998. Mr. Haim serves on numerous boards including South Dade Greater Miami Jewish Federation and Temple Beth Am. Mr. Haim also serves on the advisory committee for the Georgetown University PJC, and served as the Vice President of the Columbia Law School Alumni Association. Mr. Haim is married with three sons.
